How to Prevent Embroidery Puckering

Puckering usually comes from the combination of hooping, stabilizer mismatch, and overly dense design settings.

Puckering prevention checklist

  1. Use the right stabilizer for fabric behavior.
  2. Hoop flat and firm, but never overstretch.
  3. Lower fill density on light/stretchy materials.
  4. Verify upper thread tension and needle condition.
  5. Use a topper for textured surfaces.
  6. Run a test stitch-out before production.
